My adult life has been spent working for causes I believe in. From journalism to municipal government to higher education, I’ve sought after places to work that I care about. I am a seasoned professional in the journalism and content marketing worlds that is now working in strategic and executive communications. I have more than a decade of experience creating content for numerous media organizations. I’ve rubbed shoulders with professional, collegiate and prep athletes throughout the Northwest and spent my time honing my skills as a photographer, writer and videographer. My sports journalism background gives me the perfect experience to operate quickly, efficiently and under pressure.
I graduated in 2010 from the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism and in 2016 I made the leap to marketing. I moved up on my team to become the content and community engagement manager for the City of Eugene's Library, Recreation and Cultural Services Department, which included handling the public information duties. Since August 2024 I've worked for the University of Oregon as the writer for the university president.
I was a Snowden Intern for the summer of 2010 and was a full-time news reporter intern at The Daily Astorian in Astoria, Ore. I worked three years at the college paper, The Oregon Daily Emerald and also spent time working for the Associated Press at UO sporting events. From 2010-13 I worked at the News-Register in McMinnville, Ore. The last year I was the sports editor. I worked for three years at the Register-Guard in Eugene, Ore. covering high school sports and working on the sports copy desk.
I'm interested in how to help leaders in my community effectively, genuinely communicate with people to build trust.
